Window Box - Spring Card!!

Hey guys ... this week almost all the challenges had something to do with flowers and butterflies.. So, i left my vintage style to do something quite the opposite.
For a while now i wanted to a window box card and since i am into paper peicing these days i though why not.. So, before you see my card i will show a pic i d/w from the internet as my inspiration, because i wanted to do a really real looking window and window box!!

Isn't this absolutely gorgeous!! And here is my card.....

So, every detail you see is hand cut. I designed a template for myself and then cut up the pieces all free hand, the drawing and cutting!! I justused dimensional tape between each layer. And used an acetate sheet for the glass pane. I used some beautiful lace for the curtains and just messed around till i was happy with the look and taped them down.

To construct the flowers i punched them out and shaped them and layered them. The leaves you see are bought they are simple velvet leaves with stems. I shaped the leaves and had them glued first. Then i filled it up with the flowers i added the vines in the end.. The butterflies are actually bought from a local sewing store, they are plastic, so i just folded them at the center and glued them wherever i liked.. I just loved the butterflies they were perfect with the color scheme of this card.
I have to say i had a lotta fun making this card but it has a lot of skill involved and it took me an entire day to get done..
I just love this card, its definitely one of my favorites and it does look like that window doesn't it???

So, here are the challenges this baby is gonna be up for :-

The Shabby Tea Room - Flower Palette
Ellephantastic Challenges - Beautiful with a butterfly
Scrappy Frogs Challenge - Flowers and Lace
Totally Gorjuss - Spring is sprung
Alota Rubber Stamps - St. Patrick's Day

I hope you all like my card, if you do, do drop me some love.....

BABY VINTAGE CARD!!

You all know i love vintage!! This week on City Crafter's Challenge the theme was BABY, BUTTONS & BOWS!! I Just had to do it vintaged..lol!! I cant help myself...

I actually used a very heavy cardstock for the base so i couldn't get it to fold naturally, hence, what i have here is 2 peices the same size and have holes punched through them . I used the black ribbon to thread through the holes and made the bows.. It will make a perfect card for a baby boy and subsequently it can be taken apart and used in a mini... I think that would be great..

I just love this baby image dont you? I decided to do a bit of paper piecing.. So i had 4 sets of the image and cut them up. I shaped them with my embossing tool and used dimensionals to make them pop.. As you can see in this pic all the layers of the baby..

The pp is a lovely pale blue and you can see its a bit crinkled and distressed well it was that way. i inked the edges and adhered them. I used some really lovely black cotton lace and added the white ribbon.. The button is actually a vintage button so its faded and all lovely blue that went perfectly with the color scheme of the card..

I added some white lace through the button hole and used a pin.. I was pressed for time or i would have luved too add a lil charm to the safety pin.. doesn't it luk so vintage!! I bout a set of 10 in both silver and black just for Rs.10!!

Hence i am entering this card for

So, i hope you like my card!! Enjoy!!

PINUP GIRL: GO POSTAL CARD!!

This week Daring cardmakers has a really cool challenge -- GOING POSTAL !! So, obviously i thought VINTAGE!! I mean it had so so much scope to ideate and innovate i went bonkers . It was so much fun trying to plan this card .. although without most of my supplies it took me like forever to make it.

I based the card around the postcard and the pinup girl.. I actually made the postcard on Photoshop and just printed it and then coffee stained it. I decoupaged the pinup girl image.. I inked the edges of my based cardstock the white mat for the PP. The background PP was plain black so i scrunched it and sanded it to get the really grudged look.Added some really cool metal flowers and then added the bling in the center to make them pop!! I have two different laces on there both originally white i stained the lace on the bottom with coffee again .. Added the huge charm and finished it with little seed beads in the center.
I matted the postcard on white cardstock, then i distressed with scissors (which can be very tricky if your not careful). Because i thought the postcard need a mat.
I am entering my card for

Hope you all like my card i wsh the photo of had come out better still learning to use my new camera...

GIRL POWER ARTIST TRADING CARDS !!

Normally I could just lay back and relax and get lazy but so much free time I got super bored… but the only problem is I am away and separated from all my lovely craft equipment…Not to mention the fact that as I blogwalking down all your lovely blogs I get so so jealous and jus itch to do some crafting… So to cut a long story short I went out bought myself the basic tools and mind you the most basic!! Like scissors, ruler, a paper cutter some stationary and some ordinary paper and tried to figure out how to make things work…
Well it was a bit impossible to make cards immediately (I don’t know any craft stores here) so I tried to start with something smaller a few weeks back I had spotted a very cool Indian ATC swap site and I jumped .. But with the moving and packing (moving permanently lock stock and barrel that’s why craft stuff is packed) I couldn't participate, but now I thought why not and the current theme is super cool “GIRL POWER” so I was very excited to participate.
Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art. 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches (63 mm X 89 mm), small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets. Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, paper cuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth. The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold.
So, here are the two I created ( we were supposed to create two this month).
I used this green cardstock becos this is the only color that I found at the local stationer… I layered two pieces each of 2.5”x3.5” and 2.4x3.4. Then since I don’t have any equipment I kept it simple and did a bit of paper piecing for the girls. I love to work with silhouette and think they look super chic.. The lil embellishments are actually earrings which cost me Rs 5 each pair, the little flower and the slippers, can you believe it!! I just broke off the stumps in the back which was fairly easy too.
The silhouette have been cut from black velvet paper they are quite messy to work with as they tend to shed little flecks. I added a little bit of bling for interest also it had to be girly girly. The back of the ATC is very important no printer around for easy access so I used a stencil and did the entire thing by hand. So, I am off to mail them to Rachna and I just can’t wait to see the ATC I will receive.. ooooo so so excited You guys must visit her here

Hope you guys liked my work..

BIRTHDAY MINI SCRAPBOOK ALBUM FOR MY NEICE

Well u guys have seen very few scrapbooks from me in the past actually I started crafting by scrap-booking. It’s my first love!! So, ever since I saw my first mini scrapbook on someone's blog I was hooked... I jus love to make minis for every occasion I think they are perfect as they r portable and quick to make... A scrapbook mini is a perfect way to organize pictures from a particular event for example a Picnic , a party, a trip or some event like a child’s annual function or fancy dress od Birthday party. Here is one of my fav mini one I had the most fun making.

When i saw someone's mini for the first time i knew i was hooked. they are a super fun way to organize your pictures from a particular event. And they are so fast and easy to make you font get bored or quit halfway . And the best part bout them is they give a sense of accomplishment as you can be done quickly and have a lovely scrapbook to show for it. Its also makes a great present.

This one i made for my niece for her 2nd birthday!! It was sooo much fun and the entire mini is orange cos its her fav color. Since everything she wants these days has to be orange in color I thought y not!!! Here you are.....

I handmade the album and the pages , if I get a lot of request I will do a tutorial as to how I made it was fun and super quick.. As you can see i have a lot of photos in there. And i am not afraid to cut them up if i need them a certain way. So, dont be afraid and cut your photos up if u kno the end result is gonna be amazing.

P.S. it may a while to my next post as my entire house is being packed up and moved including my craft stuff (sniff sniff) . But i'll definitely try to squeeze in some crafting once in a while...
