Flower Power

I am finally back to Blog-land!! I had been travelling then there were some family emergencies... long story short all my craft stuff is packed i some how have opened just the basics as i just had had enough and was just dying ti craft!!
So, wen i saw this wonderful challenge at The Shabby tea Room !! i just couldn't resist they have a photo challenge this week. Here, is the inspiration Photo..

And at Daring Cardmakers the theme is pinterest and the photo i chose is

Aren't they absolutely divine, so, combining the two i decided to incorporate the first photo into my card and replicate the door and taking the color inspiration from the tulips for my atleast i tried, so its up to you guys to judge .
Therefore... tada... here is my card:-

I used ivory colored cardstock that had a selfembossed patterned all over it. I used the same paper to make the window. Using really thin dimensional tape i added dimension to the panes, and added acetate sheet for the glass.. Using white net lace i made curtains and adhered the whole thing together.

For the wreath i used some twine and then some wire added some leaves here and there. For the flowers i had a bag of cream colored buds (that i had forgotten i even had) so, i inked them wid some pink ink and added them. Using some ivory ribbon i created a loop and did some macarame weaving(u cant c it here), and added a bow!! For embellishments i added some butterflies and a lil' brad as a hook for the wreath and the oblong pearl for the door handle!!

Am entering this card for the following challenges:-

Dhin Chak Dhin Card

The title is so fun. I usually dont do this particular color scheme on my projects but with this particular challenge i made an exception it was hard for me to find the right paper because i dont usually have anything this bright i am talking about the photo challenge at ICR. Here, take a look-
And we were also supposed to make our own embellishments so i had a lot of fun trying to figure out what i wanted to do as there are not 1 but 4 photos in there !! So, i finally decide to take the colors as my inspiration and hence i have taken ORANGE, BLUE & PINK as my color scheme for my card.
Also at flutter by Wednesdays this week is a sketch challenge:-

So, combining the two i have made my card and although i do say so myself i am really happy with the end product. Here, is what i created:-

i have also done a video tutorial of me making the card so to see how it came to be just watch below:-

Am entering this card for the following challenges

Brocade Trifold Card

So, here is a card i made using brocade fabric instead of pattern paper . I shall do a how to video later to show you can use almost any kind of fabric on ur projects. but for now here is the card.

Since the base itself was so ornate and the structure was so complicated i kept the embellishments to minimum .I just simply used a Peacock zari embroidery Piece on the front and a tassle to give it some interest. Here is the card when u open it up:-

The card standing up :-

I also created an envelope also with the red brocade and added the tassel to complete the look. And lastly added some golden zari ribbon. Perfect for a wedding theme!!!

Vintage Bird ATC's

So, finally after my long dry spell without crafting here are my little projects. Nothing very fancy but two ATC's for my monthly ATC swap at Crazy about ATC's. The theme for this month is Animals or Birds. i love birds and i looove vintage so here is a marriage of the two:-

To begin with i layered them with some vintage book page pattern paper and inked the edges with black ink.

For the first one i used a thin ribbon to make it look like an electric wire . I cut out the bird from a piece of black card-stock and used pop dots to add dimension.
With this one i did some paper piecing to create a fence, and then i cut out the owl silhouette from some crepe paper in black leftover from another project and again used dimensional dots to raise it. I just love how they turned out...

Take a Chill Pill ATCs!!

Hey guys.. This month over at Crazy about ATCs they had a super "cool " theme.. You had to create ATCs using the Cool colors on the color chart.. So fun!!

Blue is my fav color i am an Aquarian.. and water is my fav element even most of the clothes i buy are blue !!! Hence, i loved working with blue but, i added a a little bit of my vintage twist to my ATCs(as usual). here, i have actually used clothes tags for the base(so theres recycling for you). So, here they are my little beauties....

I layered first the novel page and then inked the edges with blue ink, it is so beautifully vintage and already distressed lol. I made a little paper pieced umbrella and i embellished it with little flowers i made by punching out and layering. I then popped pearls for the center and some velvet leaves.

For this one i layered some blue pastern paper and inked the edges. I used a little mask i bought form The Pie Lane Shop while i was in pune and used blue ink pad to get that look. I think it turned out super. For the flowers i punched out flowers from the novel page and and layerd them and added black pearls!! I added a little piece of ribbon i inked first using some black staple pins.

I hope whoever receives them enjoys them as much as i did making them. Thats all for now keep dropping by.

Bird House Card

So, since i received so many wonderful comments and all the love from u guys for my window card i was inspired again to make another one on the same line using the same techniques.
This here is a little bird house card and guess what i will do a step by step video of how i made it . So, for those of u who are interested keep checking in i will upload it soon.

Here, is my card -

Istnt it cute although i do say so myself. I just love birdhouses and i knew i had to do one and its so easy as u all will see when i do the video. The dimension of the card is 5"x 6" and the card stock is white and so are the rest of the pieces of the fence and the bird house.
I have used foam tapes to create the layers. For the vines that you see i used this new product Paper cords that i just purchased and i love them they were perfect for the branch effect . I could have used wire but it would have made the card bulky.
I punched out the flowers , shaped them and layered 5 punches to create one flower. I added the leaves and the butterflies and viola!!!

The Challenges this card is gonna be up for
Gingerloft Challenge - Got the blues
Simon Says Challenge - Spring Colors
Flutter By Wednesday's - Open Challenge
The Shabby Tea Room - Spring color challenge

Hope you guys like my card. If u do do drop me some love . Its my motivation to do even better and better .

Wardrobe Birthday card!!

You all must have see this type of card.. i just liked the look of them a lot!! So, for my sister's birthday i decided to make this card. This is such a pretty card, and since my sister is very retro chic (no pinks for her) i thought the color was perfect. Here it is--

Its paper piecing again i dont know why lately i am totally into it. So, i drew a rough template free hand and then cut out the pieces with the pattern paper and use foam tape to add dimension. I added the LBD as my sis is the LBD kinda gurl! and the black clutch to match its so her.
I made the dress and the clutch he same way , i drew out the dress and cut t out of a black card-stock and then glued 1" black satin ribbon over it then added the black lace to make the skirt portion. I left the top as is. Added the cream ribbon around the waist to give it some shape and added the flower ( which is originally an earing).
For the clutch i cut out a lil' rectangle and added some foam tape to the front and then wrapped the satin ribbon around it. I then cut a 2 inch piece of the ribbon and folded one end like u make dog-ears to pages to get that triangle shape. And glued to the top to make a sort of flap and added the bling.
I also made the tiny metal hanger you see its pretty easy and actually takes a minute to make!! i promise i will show it to you all how i did it!!to finish the card i added some beads which actually luked like knobs i was very happy i had those in my stash.. And lastly stuck on the clutch and the LBD and it was done>

I am planning to put up this card for the following challenges

Hope you guys like my little card!!

Window Box - Spring Card!!

Hey guys ... this week almost all the challenges had something to do with flowers and butterflies.. So, i left my vintage style to do something quite the opposite.
For a while now i wanted to a window box card and since i am into paper peicing these days i though why not.. So, before you see my card i will show a pic i d/w from the internet as my inspiration, because i wanted to do a really real looking window and window box!!

Isn't this absolutely gorgeous!! And here is my card.....

So, every detail you see is hand cut. I designed a template for myself and then cut up the pieces all free hand, the drawing and cutting!! I justused dimensional tape between each layer. And used an acetate sheet for the glass pane. I used some beautiful lace for the curtains and just messed around till i was happy with the look and taped them down.

To construct the flowers i punched them out and shaped them and layered them. The leaves you see are bought they are simple velvet leaves with stems. I shaped the leaves and had them glued first. Then i filled it up with the flowers i added the vines in the end.. The butterflies are actually bought from a local sewing store, they are plastic, so i just folded them at the center and glued them wherever i liked.. I just loved the butterflies they were perfect with the color scheme of this card.
I have to say i had a lotta fun making this card but it has a lot of skill involved and it took me an entire day to get done..
I just love this card, its definitely one of my favorites and it does look like that window doesn't it???

So, here are the challenges this baby is gonna be up for :-

The Shabby Tea Room - Flower Palette
Ellephantastic Challenges - Beautiful with a butterfly
Scrappy Frogs Challenge - Flowers and Lace
Totally Gorjuss - Spring is sprung
Alota Rubber Stamps - St. Patrick's Day

I hope you all like my card, if you do, do drop me some love.....
